Questions about priesthood and religious life
How do I know if God is calling me to the priesthood or religious life?
It is often said by many priests, that the day you know that you are called to be a priest, is after the bishop has laid his hands on your head, and you are ordained. If you think you are being called by God, but are unsure, the main way to shed light on your true vocation is by living the sacramental life. Strengthen your relationship to God in prayer and attend Mass frequently. Take time to deepen your prayer life and your love of the Mass. Go early, to give yourself time to prepare. Listen carefully to the readings and the homily, and let God guide you through his word.
If you still feel in your heart that you are called to become a priest or brother, then do not be afraid to approach a priest or brother to find out more. You may also want to try this link to learn more about vocation.

Who are the Salvatorians?
We are a congregation of religious priests and brothers. Like most religious orders, Salvatorians make vows of Poverty, Chastity, and Obedience. On the day of our vows, we dedicate ourselves without reserve to a life of apostolic service to God and his church in order to follow Jesus Christ more faithfully, and to serve him and his work of Salvation.
Salvatorians don’t restrict themselves to any one apostolate, instead, we try to use all ways and means that God may inspire, to make God better known and loved in the world.
If you think God may be calling you to do the same, then you might want to consider finding out more. Please visit the “about us” section of our site, or contact our vocations director “here” for materials about us and our founder.
How long does it take to train to be a priest?
It normally takes around seven years to reach ordination.
Our usual formation timeline for those preparing for ordination as priests consists of six months candidacy, one year as a novice, five years of study while in temporary vows and one year as a deacon.
You can find out more about the process, and why it’s important "here".
